how do I beat the second mission crossroads?
I cant get past the part where you capture the FOB and gain control over those APC's cause I get swamed by a bunch of tanks that always overwhelm me and it takes 2 hours for reinforcements to arrive by which they've already killed all my stuff

Each of the single player missions is designed to teach you things about the game, I've just re-played crossroads and can see that this is trying to teach you that A. Not all tanks are equal and B. Road movement.

So push the recon you start with straight up the road and link up with all the British so you control them. Do not push your command forward until you've dealt with that early rush. The AI always seems to come with helicopters from the left first so make sure you keep the flakpanzer M42A1 up with your tanks.

Tanks are what this is all about, you get Chieftain MK2 which are a really good tank compaired to the rush of PACT tanks which are mostly T-34's and a few T-55's. Keep your tanks back by the FOB so that they are constantly re-arming and repairing. Keep your tanks stationary as the Chieftan MK2 has no stabilizer so not moving will increase accuracy. I also purchased 2x Leopard 1A4 and road moved them up to help out, it really doesn't take long for stuff to get there if you road move.

The infrantry i dis mounted in those two forests at the front end of echo, yes they all died, especially when the AI used a flame tank, but it didn't matter. My tanks just sat back by the FOB and chewed through his rubbish tanks, it was basically a turkey shoot. Once that initial rush is over you get breathing room, then I brought the command up.

Also under the vehicle tab you should have the ability to build Marder VTS, they are cheap but still have quite a good punch (their armour is lacking). When you move forward on other areas charge his tanks with some APC's once you've unloaded the infranty, the AI will fire at the closest thing (which will be those APCs) so make sure you've got tanks and Marders further back and again sit still and turkey shoot his tanks.

The whole point to this mission is that it looks hard, you see all those tanks coming at you and panic, but what it's trying to teach you is that rushing with low value rubbish is easy to stop in this game, not all tanks are equal and yours are far better than his.
