Please add continues/lives/difficulty options for multiplayer.
I'm not upset with the game's difficulty overall. It's true that I haven't passed the second level yet in single player mode, but I accept the challenge of improving for the sake of beating the game. I want to beat this, and I'm having fun tring to beat it. After all, it's not uncommon for there to be a difficulty wall in these types of games, one that a player has to overcome through practicing skills and learning strategies.

But that doesn't translate to multiplayer. It's unreasonable to expect someone to find more (local) people who have that same level of dedication of their time and patience. It's one thing for me to practice this game for several hours, but I can't get 3 other people to practice with me at the same time.

On top of the difficulty that's transferred to multiplayer, not only are continues disabled for multiplayer mode, but there's a shared lives system with very few lives available, making deaths absolute and quick for new players, and leaving waiting until the most skilled player dies or willingly restarts. This is not fun. This is not even challenging. This is just unnecessarily restrictive to multiplayer.

This isn't a game I can bring to my friends for all of us to enjoy, like Jamestown, a similar in-depth shooting game with a high skill ceiling. Which is a shame, because I bought this specifically to enjoy with my friends.

Please update multiplayer mode in a way that doesn't place insurmountable walls for new players. Some suggestions include:

-Allowing for continues, which could reset to the beginning of each stage

-Allowing players to choose their number of shared lives (perhaps up to 9? Or the # of players times 3?)

-Allowing players to choose the difficulty setting (granted, I understand that difficulty should scale with the number of players)

I fully agree and support this. I want to show this game to my friends, but I know that they'll react poorly to being unable to continue. It'll be a short game session, to say the least.

Perhaps changing any multiplayer settings will prevent posting scores, just like using a continue in singleplayer?

+1
Options for the players to choose how they want to enjoy the game, that's all that's keeping me on the edge of buying it.

I agree :), I really hope they can update it to at least support continues for multiplayer XD

Please for the love of god, yes. The way the game is currently means that a group of friends can never just have fun. A group of 2 or 3 friends will NEVER experience the new stages, and a group of four friends will NEVER experience the old stages. This needs a desperate rework.

Agreed. The way the multiplayer's handled is my only big gripe with this game. Especially the whole deal with the "number of players equals which levels you play" is absolute bollocks. Me and my mate have played the original Wild Guns several times and I was looking forward to being able to experience the two new levels with him, but since 2-player mode is automatically tied with the easy difficulty, two players won't get to enjoy Underground or Flying Ship.

I wish they had a ''Very hard'' mode for both single and multiplayer, making you go through every single stages.

Y'know, that would actually be a really neat idea.

I would love to have an option to tweak the amount of lives.

Is it safe to assume they are ignoring this kind of suggestion by now?
CeeCee 2017년 9월 12일 오전 7시 59분
No. Every suggestion is passed along to Natsume-Atari for their consideration. That being said, their current stance is the game is intended to be difficult and practice and team coordination is a requirement.

On SNES the game have "continues" in the multiplayer like when you play alone... so when i want to play with a friend we are obliged to play with the SNES version rather than the Reload version, it's so stupid. Give us an option for choose unlimited continues like in the original, we are not all Pro Gamers :/

Alright, then my current stance is I'll have to pass on this game and stick to the SNES version that allowed us to customize our playstyle instead of forcing us to "git gud".
At least... until someone mods it (if possible) to allow players to play the way they want.

A mod would be nice. I'm tempted to get this on sale even though I have the PS4 disc version, with the hope of a potential extended lives mod of some sorts.

Roight, so what's the stance on the level selection? Do they feel that two players don't deserve to experience the rest of the levels, so you're gonna have to organise a four player expedition to play them? The only way around this would be to have four controllers to plug in, start four player mode and just have the two players go on with the game, which... sounds like an awful bloody hassle. You can't even 'cheat' the game to start four player mode with less than four controllers, so we're just stuck with this clumsy co-op conundrum for the time being. You can experience any part of the game when playing alone, so why the restrictions through the oddly specific player counts?
