I understand this, but why can't multiplayer at least have the same options as 1 player with limited lives and seperate scores? Why can't there be a Vs. mode like the original? The competitive aspect of the original is completely lost.
edit: It looks it the game still keeps track of scores seperately. So at least that's still there.
It's 2021 and I'd like to buy this game, but having checked the PS4 version, I just can't. It's an ok game for nostalgia relief, but an awful one to play casually with friends. I don't want them to keep playing thousands of times just to get good at it.
And you know, there are some valid requests here. Just add continues for multiplayer, allow the players to select the difficulty level they want and, after beating the game, a level selection mode. It shouldn't be too hard.
Now being forced to play a certain way just because the devs think it's the right one is not reasonable. So please take these suggestions to them because they'd make this game much more appealing, and I and a lot of other people would much more tempted to get it.
Dear Natsume.
I appreciate your integrity, sticking to your design-decisions, that's a rare trait these days and you have my utmost respect for that.
I bought an extra copy for the switch for every user here wo complained, (bribing you that they won't buy the game) so that it shouldn't be your loss.
I'm looking forward to Pocky & Rocky Reshrined and will continue to support you in the future. Proving your guts these days, is something that I will gladly support.
I have an (life-)advice for you:
Find better friends.
Honestly even if you won't reach the end, so what? It's about the way not the destination, never beat a lot of arcade games in co-op, but we had fun trying seeing to make progress more and more. If none of your friends/relatives are not willing to play in that fashion, they are generally not the right persons to enjoy such a game with, there are million other games that would be glad pandering your butt.
You said it yourself, it's ok for the game demanding effort, skill and concentration. So why should it be different in multiplayer? Why do you expect any less for your beloved ones and fellow friends. It's just a game, try to have fun, not forcing you to complete it.
