Does anyone have any tips for the Advanced Class Dog Race? My dog has all five notes, but won't follow me for long enough and takes too long to come running back. I must be missing something!

Ok, so I kept trying, and also paid attention to what the npcs were doing. It helps to run ahead, but still with your dog in view. As soon as it turns back, also run back to it but just enough to grab it's attention, and then keep on running towards the finish line.

I kept doing this, and got there gradually. I had to reload a couple of times, as there seems to still be an element of randomised stats for the other competitors.

I think other considerations that might affect the performance for the race is your fatigue level and time of the day when you enter the competition. I am not entirely sure about this and I haven't really experimented on it but I experienced before that my performance deteriorated when I entered the competition a few seconds before it ends.
