How does romance work?

Do you just do the events and then eventually you get a clear romance choice from the character? I've heard that who you take to festivals doesn't matter. I've also heard you can marry someone with a low number of hearts.

Festivals tbh, i mean you can count doing there request because you do get cutscenes after them, but just gift them often and take them to festivals and also try to win them to gain more notes

Hmm I never tried taking other candidates, so I am not sure but I talked with the one I like everyday and gifted him.

If you want to, maybe other flowers work as well but the Fall Flower Poinsettia is liked by everyone except Micheal so its a good alternative if you don't know what the girl likes

you might want to save the poinsettas, as they make a neat craftable from doc.

alternatively pretty much everyone likes bread.

I court multiple characters at once in the game. There are 3 save spots and you can pick which one to save to anytime (via the pause menus). So Im building 3 bachelor's notes while workingon getting the large house and feather. Then you save in all three spots before proposing. after each proposal you save to a spot then load a different one and repeat. Viola! three marriages and you didnt have to play the whole game over again. Works well (at least in previous games) if you are undecided between a few candidates (just dont accidently save over the wrong file).

I got the mountain scene after I finished the lighthouse. Now the pain of upgrading both barns and the house begins, and it all hinges on getting to adamantite in the mines >.< and raising more animals....lol

Highly recommend doing the Hoe to max. sooo much easier. You'll need an upgraded hammer, too.

Expert Hoe: 3000G, bronze (4), silver (2), sunflower (10)
Expert Hammer: 3000G, bronze (4), silver (2), cosmos (10)

Master Hoe: Silver (2), mithril (2), white rose (4), 20,000G
Master hammer: silver (6), mithril (2), blue rose (4), 20,000G

Sacred Hoe: Gold (8), Orichalcum (2), Adamantite (2), 50,000G
Sacred Hammer: Gold (8), Orichalcum (2), Adamantite (5), 50,000G

You CAN grow them out of season, the flowers. I did. It makes your life seriously easier if you get the sacred set before you spelunk down to like lvl 76.
