Water tablet piece help

I've got doc's house done but no matter where I fish, I'm not getting the tablet part...is there a specific thing I'm doing wrong?

Have you waited until the next day after repairing the house? I got the tablet from fishing in the pond (left of the mine) after repairing Docs hous, sleeping, and getting a cut-scene the next day when I entered the mountain area.

My wife had the same issue, until she walked by the lighthouse as stated above. She forgot to put the broken part of the tablet in the panel. Then after running back up to the mounains got a cut scene with doc. And she was able to fish the piece out of the pool in front of the goddess spring.

This is how the sequence worked for me.

1.Get broken water tablet.
2. Go to light house -scene about missing piece
3. Repair blacksmith,mine, visit scientist house (he asks to repair, must mine and reforge some glass and iron)
4. Next day event -Do the mine quest to unlock smithy. he just wants an iron ore
5.Eventually repair science house.
6.Next day -scientist event when you go in his house- he examines tablet
*Now fish in the large central lake at the mountains. It's the one near the ice drop place and roaming cat. It'll be a tougher fish and you'll just fish up the tablet piece.
7. visit science guy again- he comments on it again
8.Lighthouse for the day passing event and next day beach unlocked to bluebird quest.

If in doubt also repair those many broken bridges.
