How do you feed Chickens?

I bought a chicken. I put the animal feed in the bins. The chick will not eat the food and is hungry. Is there something else I am supposed to do?

if the food bubble is over his head and there is food in 1 of the 5 or 15 squares it should start eating, just go do other stuff and check back later if the food is gone.
just to be sure check the book to see if it's not sick.

Put food into the feeding areas, and leave. They should eat on their own. I usually go in first thing after waking up to find food gone.

I believe this game is same ass all their others, which has animals complete eating at the start of the hour after starting to eat. So if they start eating 8:59 for example they'll be done 9, but if they start at 9 they'll be done at 10.
