You said under a year in your original posts and now the trees have been planted for four years, so it's not unbleivable that they were actively growing during the last time they were able to bear fruit.

Basicly just grow them with a space around them (can be shared).. If you grow grass around them all nothing can spawn to hinder them.. It should only take 28ish days to fully grow, then in their season they should produce fruit in like 7-10 days (I forget exactly).
