How has everyone decorated their farms?
I'm very curious because so far all I've done is fenced off an area to try and keep the animals in the area where the grass is growing and it looks like GARBAGE. It just looks like a crappy cube. I want my farm to look pretty but also be functional, you know? Has anyone managed to make their farms look pretty decent? I'd love to see some screenshots! It might give a few ideas on how to not suck at the whole decorating thing... ): Thanks all!

Post yours too. I can't even afford enough for a fence haha.

As I said its kind of crappy lol. The rest of the area isn't worth posting a picture because I haven't attempted to decorate it yet and a new season is going to roll over soon. I'm actually in year two and I've reached the bottom of the mine and I've sold lots of gems so. That's how I'm able to afford the fencing. I'm honestly considering making hedge fences because they look so much more natural and I do have the materials for it.

Rachuu, in my opinion, the hedge of trees is more aesthetic and has a greater profit.

Honestly that is what I am thinking. I just had so much stone I just figured the stone walls would be easier to get lol. I do have a decent amount of pointsettes from winter saved up though. I might have enough to recreate the image and make it look nicer.

After removing the stone walls the hedge walls do look quite a bit better. I'll need to figure out what else I can do on the rest of my land but so far the fenced in area for the animals looks decent.

I did squat. I will only start planning my farm when I can get rid of the biggest rocks, which should be the next hammer upgrade.

I find fences are stupidly expensive.

I hate the fact that you can't put fences on the ground. It drives my OCD mind nuts that i cant have a square plot

I agree that walls should be placeable on every tile in the farm.. ecept the entrance/ext area (for obvoius reasons) and the are the house expands into..

Also I have used a mix of stone and bushes but I've not done much with it really mostly just Here:

If we had paths.. I'd use a lot more of those..

Wow that is a NICE use of mixing different material fencing. It works well together! And I would love some paths to really further decorate the farm. It could even be simple dirt paths and I'd be ok with it!

Oh god amen. When I attempted it I was like: "...Wait what. Seriously? Omg this is the worst thing ever!"

This is something I would love to see them fix but I'm not sure if its something they can do without breaking the game.

This made me feel like bothering to wall around the other farm plots field space.. and ran out of hedges on the dry mountain area quite fast but the patchy plot does work nicely:

All 3x5 plots for watering ease.. So not bothering with any small spaces.. It does actually help to have that hard edge turns out.. Since my plots will always be in the right/same places.. I also put some trees in the outer edge but idk if they grow like that.. we'll see I guess..

Also I think for future games the main farms shouldn't include any pre-defined paths (except where you need it, like the exits and infront of your house for events).. And they leave the rest open to the player to decorate with paths, fences and other nice things...

I'd like for Natsume to bother to go look back at A New beginning, their own games and SoS/Stardew see the decoration options they gave and borrow them for there future games (the more the better really). They have the right idea in the 3ds games.. a very customizable farm.. So just bring that to the 2d games to, just with out terriforming.

How exactly do you even make fences to begin with? Where do you go to have someone make them?
