Chickens Grazing?

Do the chickens graze in the fields? I noticed there isnt a bell for the chickens and if i ring the bell in the barn for the sheeps and cows they dont follow so do i need to pick them up and bring them out or is it ok for them to stay in?

pick em up 1x1 and put outside. but imo grass are useless in this game. they'll wither.

You don't need to graze chickens. they stay in the coop, Sofie says something about not needing to clean them because they dont graze so they don't get dirty.

many people use grass in liue of paths, yes it withers and is an ugly rotted plant but it beats weeding every fricken day.

grass can also be used as feed- so not entirely useless.

My approach to chickens:
I haven't needed any high quality eggs for a request, and we don't compete chickens- so I haven't bothered raising my hearts with them at all. I just feed and clean the coop and otherwise ignore them. I keep an eye on their stress level and will give them loves only if I see the meter go up. I sold all my regular chickens and only have one brown now- so I check on her every couple days.

thank you for ur response question though how did you get a brown chicken? So far I can only buy the white ones does that come later?
