How do you make great wool?

Do you give them a special feed?

I think you need 2 notes with them then you have a chance to get a great wool (someone else said you don't need any notes, but I never got a great item below 2 so idk), more notes more chance for something better. Feed might factor in, better feed = better products but I haven't really tested it so I don't know exactly what they do..

If your desprate, if you save before going into the barn, then go in harvest the sheep and reload, you'll eventually get a great wool.. I think the item is decided as soon as you walk in to the barn on the day its ready.

No, the item isn't decided until you shear/milk. You can save right in front of the animal and reload to get a different result. And I've gotten great products as soon as they reach maturity, it just takes a bit of patience with saving and reloading sometimes.

I tried that but I got the same thing like 10 times, So I figured it was decided when you walk in, instead. Guess I was just very unlucky. Good to know.
