I played the game as a child and since fell in love with the series. I would always marry Ann because I was impressed by her mechanical smarts and hard work. And I was impressed by her in Harvest Moon 64, which is like like her in SNES, but has more to her character. Ever since then she's been my favorite Harvest Moon character.
I think that Harvest Moon 64 is still my favorite Harvest Moon game. But SNES is even more nostalgic. And is a very special experience. The music, the character art, the simplicity, there was a special kind of charm that the first Harvest Moon had. Something very wistful and melancholy but also upbeat and happy. There was a transient and nostalgic feeling when I played it, even as a child. Like it was about time passing by and people changing with the seasons.
Anyway, since Harvest Moon is called Story of Seasons now I don't expect Natsume to get what makes Harvest Moon great right away. Sadly, Story of Seasons isn't yet coming to Steam. But I will give Natsume's Harvest Moon a chance. Maybe if Harvest Moon does well enough on Steam, Marvelous will be interested in porting Story of Seasons.
I would be super happy to buy Harvest Moon SNES or any of the classic Harvest Moon games on Steam.
