Best gun?

I’m trying to loop the loop right now, and I really thought I could do it w Swarm Gun because of its crazy-good crowd control ability. But I got reamed on the last area of the second loop and I think it’s because of the low-ish damage output. I’m wondering if there are any weapons anyone else can recommend? I did unlock whatever gun you get for two target ranges in one run, but I haven’t seen it yet.

Next thought: I basically use the Teddy Bear ability whenever I can. Does anyone else have more success with anything else? Teddy does have high cooldown rate.

The final gun in the log, which I believe is called the Dominator or Decimator, is really good. It has a decent fire rate, infinite range, and the ability to pierce all enemies that it hits. The only downside is that it seems to be a rare appearance in shops, as I've only encountered it once. Aside from that, I've found the Big Purple Blaster to be quite reliable. With a burst fire of 3 shots, good fire rate, and decent damage, it should be able to help you loop. As for power-ups, there really only seem to be 4 that are actually useful: Invincibility, Shield, Freeze, and Double Fire-Rate. I've found Freeze to be best for looping, as it allows you time at the start of each floor to clear enemies and gain some breathing room. Additionally, this Active Item works well with many of the passives that you can get. When combined with the surprise attack item that hides your presence upon entering a floor, it gives you even more time to clear out nearby foes. It's also possible to decrease the recharge time enough via passive items to keep every enemy frozen indefinitely. Ultimately, things will be left up to your RNG for a given run, but I would recommend prioritizing Freeze, Shield, or Invincibility for their efficiency in dealing with non-boss floors.

In another separate run, I had dominator and was super underwhelmed by it's strength coupled with it's tiny enemy knockback. Piercing was nice, but it took way too many shots, and I got taken down in the mines, so pretty early in the second loop. I'll have to get a BPB and try for a double loop and get back to you.

Playing on Switch and I got this gun that shot 3 knives that do 3 damage each, spread like a shotgun, carried me to the end of the game. Got it on the 3rd level.

My best gun is Big Crystal Gun. I usually go with 1. Double Pistol or Shotgun in early stage
then pick up Medium (or Big) Crystal Gun if I can. Then the rest run is easy as pie.

I just Looped the Loop with the Compressor and the Freezing ability. I haven't gone with Big Crystal Gun yet, because I haven't seen it, but Compressor has to be up there for best gun.

I found Dominator actually awful due to lack of knockback, and it was doing hardly any damage compared to my railgun or big electric gun.
