Coop can be played by up to 2 players locally and at least one gamepad is needed. We recommend using Xbox 360, Xbox One or Steam controllers. To play coop, choose Story mode and join both players. To join a player who will play with a gamepad press A button on gamepad. To join another player who will play with gamepad press A button on another gamepad or Enter keyboard button if one would like to play with a keyboard. If you have additional questions, let us know.

It doesn't have online multiplayer and will not have in the future. According to our plan, the game was not supposed to have online multiplayer and to change that it would be needed to make game from scratch.

Steam link streams games over local network from your PC to other device (TV, Tablet, Phone and etc.) and accepts input/is compatible with a number of popular controllers, including the Steam Controller. However, have in mind that due to how Steam link works, there might be some input latency.

Technically, you can play 2 players locally - one with keyboard, another via Steam link with a connected controller. If you stream the game to your phone/tablet, you can use it as a controller with touch controls, but since the game is twin-stick shooter for the best gameplay experience using Xbox 360, Xbox One or Steam controllers directly connected (wired or wirelessly) to your PC is recommended.

You can play with a friend via Steam Remote Play Together: https://store.steampowered.com/remoteplay

P.S. Keep in mind that only one player can be controlled with the keyboard and another player has to use controller in order to play co-op via Steam Remote Play Together.
