Subscription Payment?
I want to buy this software to create indie games but I saw in the GMS2 software that they have a subscription. Do I need to buy subscription after buying this software on steam?

Far as I can tell they haven't updated the Steam storefront for the versions yet, so you keep what you buy until they do. Even then you still should from what I gather.

So anyone interested needs to buy through Steam now before it's changed.

If you buy this steam version, you will get gms2 desktop permanent license. And optional free subscription 12 months of indie version

What do you mean by optional free subscription?

Indie subscription includes export to desktop, web, and mobile platform.

If you buy this you get permanent export for Desktop only. And on top of that permanent license you also get 12 months of indie subs. If you claimed that subscription you can export to all other platform for 12 months. After that you go back to your original perpetual license

I guess from an indie dev / hobbyist perspective, consider that a single down payment will enable you to continue to work on and release PC versions of your games without needing any additional sub. If you can get a PC game out that sells, you now have a revenue stream from which to get a subscription to grow your business. If not, you have a fun hobby and a cool programme which you can use for years.

I'm a bit confused. Will you be allowed to export, etc in the new version, or is it just for this one? Will the sub apply to to this only, or all? I'm probably missing something simple giving me a brain fart.

If you buy the full-price version, you won't lose anything from it, including exports to whatever platforms you own the modules for. That's the common consensus anyway.

So if i buy it now, it still a permanent licence instead of a yearly sub?

You always get the latest updates. It's just some features will be locked if you're not subscribers.
