1.4 key

Will buying a old humble key of someone give me a copy of GMS 2 or only the original 1.4. This question goes for both steam and yoyo key.

The person giving you the key should know what it's for. If it's not for GMS2, but GMS still, then it should imply GMS1.

GMS 1 isn't on steam anymore, its already been updated to GMS 2. By getting a GMS1 key would i get the old GMS or get GMS2.

GMS1 is on Steam still - it just doesn't have the store page anymore because Yoyo Games isn't selling it anymore. GMS1 has appid 214850 while GMS2 has 585410. Everything for GMS1 is still on Steam, such as the Community Hub and beta branches[steamdb.info] and you can even get the free/demo version of GMS1 still using this URI.

It's simply delisted from the store.

If you have a GMS1 key, you receive GMS1.
And yes, people still use GMS1 and the latest beta update was less than a month ago.
