Offline use ?

When I'm offline, and unable to login, I cannot start the software. Is it normal ? And how to use GM 2 offline from steam ????

Yes, internet connection is required. It says it there in the system requirements of the GMS2 store page. If you cannot access the internet here is what I suggest, if you have an android smartphone with unllimited data:

1) Go to the playstore
2) search KLINK - Tether (exactly how I typed it dont forget the "-")
3) test the app to make sure its compatible with your phone
4) if its detecting your phone and all is working purchase the app (i think its llike $5)
5) enjoy unlimited free internet on your pc :D

Klink uses your phone's data instead of hotspot to connect you to the internet. This is how I access internet cuz why pay for 2 bills lol. If you want I can create a video showing how to set it up. I'm using it now. Here's a speed test:

now mind you I've used over 100mb of data already and its nearing the end of the month so it slows down a little for me, once its the first of the month again I generally get 50-70MB/s Down and 40-50MB/s Up

GM 2 was advertised as possible to be used offline, and internet would be required only every few weeks. Lie ?

Anyway, I cannot use your help here, as I am a cruise ships worker.

Edit : YoYo games replied to my message and said that yes GM 2 can be used offline, and they don't understand why it's not working for me.

I think you will need to start GMS 2.0 from inside "SteamApps" folder, to make it run offline.

sorry for late comment but the steam version need to be online and on yoyo doesn't need to :3

i dont have the steam version, any help for offline use?

I don't think the issue exists any more. There are still times when GMS 2 freezes for a bit while offline (probably trying to connect to server), but other than that, it works offline. I have not tried the non-steam version for a while, though.
