nwjs has stopped working...any ideas as to what this means?
Having recently purchased this title with great expections, the game will not launch and the above "nwjs" has stopped working appears and that is that, a game that provides the pleasure of watching repeated crashes without the need for watching the new Top Gear franchise.
I was going to go for the refund option but then thought, why not ask here for help...?
Win Vista 32 Bit 0S - Core2Duo - 4 Gig Ram - Ati Radeon HD2600 (256Mb) and ok, it is a weak setup by today's standards but this system can run some pretty intesive games and I can get away with it, like Seraph or Ori and the Blind Forest. Why then will Open Sorcery not run? Thanks.

Open Sorcery doesn't strike me as a game that should be demanding on your hardware, so it's probably something else.

The Dev is probably going to have a better idea about what's wrong (she's awesome and pretty active around here, so I think you'll get an answer soon.)

Did you try all the classic solutions yet like uninstall and reinstall or verifying the game's Steam cache? Maybe you have a file missing or something.

Hey there! I'm sorry you're encountering problems. And Malgardian is right--OS requires nothing fancy to run.

32bit. Hmm. That may be the problem. A while ago the uploaded a separate version for 32bit systems, but it's difficult to maintain since I don't have a 32bit machine and have to visit a friend to test it. One of my recent updates may have somehow broken it. I'll visit my friend tomorrow to test.

If you have an android or iPhone I'd be happy to offer you a free key to play on those while you're waiting.

One is quite happy to wait for an update to the old fashioned 32Bit OS (in this case, Vista) and we can take it from there. It will be my priority to update my system this year to 64 Bits and Win 7 but right now, the old OS will have to suffice. One good reason to update to a 64 Bit machine and OS is P.A.M.E.L.A (on Early Access) but as I bought your game, it would be interesting to see how good it is?! It has had some great reviews, so here is to waiting patiently for an update and thank you for getting back to me. A nod of respect to Developers who care about their customers.

Yeah the dev is nice, she responds to every single bug report or question.

PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT MY GAME.

It's the best.

I don't understand devs who DON'T do this.

The devs who don't do this are either super-cocky money hogs or they have such a large fanbase that losing customers due to technical problems and other stuff isn't a big deal to them.

Sadly there are developers who do not even respond at all and this ranges from projects on Greenlight right up to some the the cheaper titles available here on Steam, the mere fact that you respond in person displays committment to your wares and I take my hat off to you for that. Any joy in a 32 Bit update yet or am I being to hasty?

The dev is going to push out a pretty big bugfix update soon, so I'd assume your problem will be patched pretty fast as none of the reports that me and others have given are quite as serious as the game refusing to start.

Okay! I have a 32bit laptop and I have re-created the issue. I am working on fixing it.

Many thanks altough I have no idea what nwjs stands for or what it does within the code. Cheers.

Maybe it stands for "No winning, jeered....." Dammit, I can't find a villian in the game that starts with s without spoiling.

Ok, here goes:

No winning, jeered Slenderman.

This character doesn't talk at all but let's just go with it...

nwjs is the tool I use to port the application to windows. :)

Okay. So I've worked with my 32bit setup for a while and I actually don't think I recreated your specific issue because it was complaining about a dll, and I fixed that (it was an issue with the computer, not the game), and never got the nwjs crash.

I've done some googling. My next theory is Vista might be the issue. Unfortunately I have no access to a computer with Vista.

I've got two proposals for you. Gonna message you directly about them.

Isn't Windows Vista unsupported for like 95% of the games on Steam???

Okay. So to wrap this up, Robert did a test on his machine and we figured out that the underlying technology I use to port the game doesn't work. Since I can't change the underlying technology, I can't fix this.

We currently suspect this is a comparability issue with Vista.
