Anyone else getting killed repeatedly by blocks in chemical plant zone?

I decided to start replaying the game again and it seems that as long as the block paths are even near each other i have a 1 in 3 chance of dying. I mean, even when the blocks were moving AWAY from each other i died.

I feel like the hitboxes should be shrunken a bit because its impossible to tell when these things can kill you

i am going slow, i think you misunderstand. what im saying is just standing still on the platform ill just randomly get squashed

I just played through this, and oh man, I lost like 4-5 lives to those blocks. I remember this same segment back in the old game, and never had this much trouble with it.

honestly it feels like sonic's hitbox is bigger in this game than the classic trilogy
