Can't get out of Debug mode or "& Knuckles" mode?

Hey everyone, something weird happened in my game. I was going after blue spheres to unlock the Sound Test, so when I unlocked Debug mode, I used that to go after them much more easily, and also decided to go with Knuckles & Knuckles while doing so for a chuckle. However, for some reason now, even when they are set to be Off, both Debug mode and "& Knuckles" mode still seem to be set on. Is there some way for me to fix this?

I think those are tied to the save file. When you turn them on they stay on for that save and you can't disable them. Only way out is to use a different save slot. I'm not totally sure on this but it makes sense to me at least.

Turns out that I needed to disable it BEFORE playing anything. If I didn't the settings would get stuck. However, restarting the app and going to the menu managed to take care of it.

Complete 11 Blue Sphere stages via checkpoints and you unlock "& Knuckles", which lets you have Knuckles as a buddy (replacing Tails if you're doing Sonic & Tails). This includes playing as Knuckles, so you can have "Knuckles & Knuckles". One's a beatnik, one's a rastafarian.
