You need two controllers to make Player 2 use a controller. Turn on one of them, then turn on the other one and turn the first one off.
To remap the keyboard controls, just turn off all controllers and go to the input settings.
Isn't it possible to use a controller for Player 1 and keyboard for Player 2? So why turn off all controllers to remap keyboard controls.
The control options for multiplayer of Sonic Mania are horrible, really messed up.
J or K for jump.
For his movement you need have "numlock" activated on your keyboard. If numlock is off ull just control sonic.
If numlock is on then Tails movement is: Num4 = left, Num8 = up, Num5 = down, Num6 = right.
To actvate numlock press the "Num"-Button (also called Numlock or Num[1]). It's on the upper left side of the numbers field on your keyboard. Usually the left most led on the keyboard is lit when numlock is activated.
