It's much better than Sonic X and Underground.
Yeah! I recently found out that some modern sonic fans were spamming bad reviews for this show! They wanted modern sonic and not classic sonic. So someone acting like a 4 year old child created fake imdb accounts and spammed 0 rating for the show. Man, why is the sonic fanbase so toxic?! This is the only problem i have with the sonic franchise. 🙄
That said, I am absolutely against forcing 2D into a 3D game where it doesn't belong and I hope from here on out that 2D gameplay stays in 2D side-scrollers and/or is kept to an absolute minimum.
And that is really sad... the absolute state of the fanbase!
No wonder why Sega and the Sonic Team don't even know what to do with their franchise anymore...
The main difference is that despite the drastic changes to the gameplay, these extra characters usually didn't take away from the core gameplay, rather they put a new spin on it to keep things fresh and prevent it from getting stale.
Not to mention Sonic Unleashed. You can mostly thank IGN, Gamespot and other media outlets for that. Instead of giving these games a fair chance and actually trying to get good at them, they instead write them off as bad because they don't understand how they work. Kind of reminds me of how one journalist couldn't even get past the Cuphead tutorial
Even though Sonic Team did the absolute best they could with Unleashed and being one of the best 3D games in the series, it got worse scores than Sonic 06 and Shadow the Hedgehog, even though Unleashed is way better than either of those games by a significant margin.
I honestly have no idea whatsoever how Unleashed even got the reception that it did, and as a fan of this series, it frustrates me that such an ambitious game that did so many things well got written off as one of the worst in the series, which might explain why Sonic Team never tried anything ambitious ever again. They're scared of the reception these games might get, they've lost all confidence in making that one special game and whether they try their best or not, people aren't going to give it a fair chance anyway. At least, that's how I feel anyway.
Sonic 06 was also ambitious, but the difference is that Unleashed knew what kind of game it wanted to be and focused on that while at the same time knowing its limits, whereas Sonic 06 tried way too much in one game to have any sort of focus or clear direction.
Or maybe because Sega doesn't know how to make a game that is good for everybody.
Nintendo managed to please any of their fans.
SONIC : THE CARD GAME 😆
Edit: I think I will try this game
Like when they made Sonic 2006 and Secret Ring?
The Avatar is made for people who wanted their "original character do not steal" in the game
