Why on earth Sega decided to advertise Sonic Colors Ultimate for Epic Games Store exclusive?! Just why?! 🤦‍♀️

When they started the Sonic Colors trailer I thought, as long as they don't ruin the launch I'll pay full price for it but then they ruined it before the end of the trailer so I'm gonna wait for a heavy discount on Steam.

Epic pays out a lot for timed exclusives. It's a win-win for sega whether it does well on epic or not.

Sega's also banking on you guys to buy this a year later, discount or not.

Not me though. Any game that's gone EGS exclusive means no sale for me, not even a year later. Shame as well, because Sega spent the last few yrs trying to earn some goodwill on PC and this is how they p*ss it all away.

I imagine the yet to be revealed Sonic game is going to be EGS exclusive as well.

I mean it's not like I dumped my copy of colors from my Wii to an iso for use on Dolphin anyways, I can just use my 60fps patch. I mean then again being able to play it on Steam will be very nice. Also native always runs better then emulation.

edit: also I feel that any game that goes on epic is asking for them to crack it and put it on pirate websites Oh no.

When I say heavy discount that means a minimum of 75%, anyway they will most likely throw Denuvo in just to sour the game even more for PC gamers.

Not only do we support SEGA for the games and IP's they make, but even when they make bad choices. They should have known that people hate Epic games spyware platform. They need to back out of that deal and release the game on Xbox market and Steam. We all need to inform people to stop using their fortnite launcher from tencent aka China.

This only further proves that no company has ever given two sh*ts about any of it's customers. It's always about the money, even when they toss out PR events like mod showcases, hiring modders to make games for them or giving out "we love you guys/thank you" posts, they don't really care, because to them it's just business and the PR is to earn brownie points with customers, to keep them buying.

Like looking at how much fanfare Mania got, and looking at this stupid af decision, as well as letting Atlus screw around on it's own accord just tells me that Sega flat out do not care. They only care when it makes them money, and EGS offered them a fat sack of cash. They don't care whatever money they make a year later on Steam, but they know damn well that people will buy it a year later.

The EGS exclusivity model is proving that as long as EG forks over the cash, the exclusivity model becomes a pro business move for publishers/devs, and it's all thanks to anyone buying games a year later on Steam. If you want to end that future business model (Epic's been growing for years and I don't see them stopping anytime soon), you'll do us all a favour and just not buy Colours when it hits Steam.

You can just as easily buy the game on a console or just ignore it, it's a game, a mere luxury piece of code. You don't actually need an old game like colours in your life and there are plenty more games coming out this yr and next to keep you satisfied. Just take one or a few games out of your life to actually stick it to the companies for once.

Well... at least the Pre-order page have Steam Logo, Trademarks etc... and a option to choose but doens't go anywhere, let's hope this be only a timed exclusive.

More like 18 months after release also Sonic Forces still has Denuvo 31 months after release. so it's nothing guaranteed.

F*** they updated it. They removed Steam and replaced it with Epic, the copyright text still hasn't been updated yet.
