Before Bowsette won't be canon to Super Mario lore and Mai Shiranui from Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters won't join Smash, There was this.

Bowsette was a fan...transformation? Where Bowser took a mushroom powerup which allowed toadette to transform into peachette, a character who looked similar to Princess Peach but wasn't. Bowsette originated from a comic where Peach rejected both Bowser and Mario so Bowser took the power up to show up on Peach and "date" Mario. She's basically the Omlette of the Mario franchise.
