EDIT: And sorry to say but you aren't missing anything, this ending is the real deal sadly!
But with Super Tails on your team, there's almost no reason to use anyone else besides for the occasional Knuckles or Mighty path, both being rare.
It had a lot of potential, it could have been a fight with the gigantic Titanic Monarch robot in the background with each character having to take down different parts of it. Imagine that for a second. Mighty and Knuckles trying to destroy the legs, Tails and Ray attacking the arms and Sonic fighting the head of the robot.
The mode and the DLC is great, and I don't regret my purchase, don't get me wrong. It was just... a bit disappointing to not get anything other than playing with the Super form for getting all 7 emeralds in the "Hard" version of the game. Especially since the Special Stages were harder, and less forgiving.
The encore ending is so short, like 5 seconds, not even old consoles like the Master System had such poor endings. As someone pointed out before, the game is great, I don't regret buying it, but you guys should put more love on those things. You have all the hard work and then you sit on the tip of your chair waiting for something very cool happening and then... a 5 seconds animation. It was kind of cool, but seriously?
I wish we had a new update correcting it, because it makes the game look so amateurish. And it is not fair, since it is a great game in the "game" itself (the part you actually play it is just a joy, maybe even better then the Genesis games). C'mon, guys.
