- 4 to 5 hours for the first playthrough if you're taking your time, actively seeking out secrets and Special Stage rings, doing the checkpoint Bonus Stages, etc.
- 2 and a half hours on repeat playthroughs if you're going along routes you know, probably a bit longer if you're playing as Knuckles after Sonic/Tails to do Knuckles' exclusive content (and vice versa if you played Knuckles first).
- Bonus Stages time can wildly vary depending on how good you are at Blue Spheres, some people have taken days to do them for all the unlockable options and modes, some a few hours.
If you're modding the game and playing with all the new and remixed stages people are making, alongside big gameplay mods like Sonic Tag Team that can really change how you play the game, that's basically indefinitely more length as well.
