Mirage Saloon Glitch

So I was playing on a No Save file, and I got to mirage saloon. I skipped the checkpoint before the act 1 boss, started spindashing in the plane. I was also moving upward when Heavy Magician appeared. However, the caterkiller that came out of the cap didn't transform, and Heavy Magician disappeared, leaving two bird robots behind. There's literally nothing else there.

Anyone else encounter this glitch?

that's a softlock, you can fix it by resetting... but you can still encounter it, though
