How many continues do you get?

Old Sonic games had limited lives and limited continues. Newer Sonic games seem to have limited lives and unlimited continues.

How does Sonic Mania work?

Some of the older sonic games had limited continues, but Sonic 3 (and knuckles) had unlimited and so does this game.

You get one set of lives and restart the zone if you lose those lives, but emeralds and other things are saved. It uses the Sonic 3 system.
