Oil Ocean Act 2 Boss (again)

I swear this Boss is broken. I hit it and then I just die for no reason? falling into the oil when I'M OUT OF THE SUBMARINE'S WAY kills me too?

I'm getting borderline angry now and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't.

Is there a cheap way of beating this? I'm sick of being stuck here.

-get a flame shield and keep it until the boss, burn that egghead.

-never stay where you might get crushed, lure bullets to places that make them easier to dodge

-jump from platform to platform when they're up to avoid the tentacle spike thing, and stay far from the lazer for more reaction time to the projectiles

-if you can, get super sonic for the fight for maximum cheese.

-try to bounce on the things that shoot the projectiles, destroying them quickly will render robotnik defenseless.

-be knuckles

-don't chuckle

1.Avoid the sharp tentacle thing entirely.

2.Avoid the laser shooting tentacle entirely

3.When Eggman/Robotnik surfaces with the two circle tentacles that shoot the small balls, hit those two circle tentacles. Makes it easier.

4.Then kill Eggman.

*If you fall into the oil, you can jump out.

Thanks guys I will keep these tips in mind the next time I try but I feel I should point out I tried the Fire Shield technique before and I couldn't get it to work unless I was doing it wrong? Idk.
