Starting the game with the language I want to use

Whenever I boot Sonic Mania up, it never starts in the language I want to play in and instead resets to the original one (in this case, German).
Is there a solution that makes the game always start in the language I chose in the the last time I played the game instead of going into the options, selecting "language" and choosing "English" everytime I start Mania?

Nope, that doesn't seem to change Mania's language on startup. Not even changing the ini file seems to work.
It almost seems like it depends in which language the game was downloaded in. Which'd suck.

Possibly. or your steam preference file (don't ask me where it is, I don't know... mine got corrupted once and reinstalled and it reset all my ♥♥♥♥, sucks.) is set to read-only, do other things save? like things u put in settings/launch options/etc?

Go to valve.cfg in sonic mania directory change language from German to english

Thanks! I'm gonna just assume that works because I kinda don't want to play Mania anymore. But it's still nice that you answered the issue as I'm sure someone somewhere has this problem, looks up the issue on Google, finds this and then sees this as the solution.
