It would help to know what the error message is or says, someone might be able to contact MainMemory about it.

Yep. Same thing happened here.
Dammit Sega, you support rom hacks of your Steam versions of genesis games, yet you won't let us mod this masterpiece?

oh ok i thought i was the only one who had this problem. How come nobody is talking about this? Do we need to update our mod loaders?

Probably, but the thread for it on Sonic Retro is locked...

If you dig through MainMemory's Twitter you will find instructions to downgrade to the last version and re-enable Mod Loader.

MainMemory still needs to update the modloader.

Just use MainMemory’s method of downgrading to the original version that works, and add both the modloader and the old sonicmania exe files to your steam library for easy access.

Off-topic, does that method work to dig up say GTA San Andreas v3.0 from the Steam depots, or did Rockstar do a better job at burying the old bits?

Possibly. You’d need to figure out the depot ID of that specfic version.

He recently started committing on GitHub again.
And it looks like a third party has provided a Pull Request:
https://github.com/sonicretro/mania-mod-loader/pull/8
Too bad the request currently has a merge conflict.

So I have a mod installed with Mania Mod Manager, but when I try to play it gives me the following error:

The system cannot find the file specified.
I can also click Details. This is what happens when I click it.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
