Are the Knuckles' stages even different from Sonic's?

I already beat the game once as Sonic and Tails and im doing a second playthrough as Knuckles

Im already at Stardust Speedway Zone but it doesn't feel any different? I know that Mirage Saloon has a different Act 1 for Knuckles but that's it?

I have also seen people refering to their respective acts as if they were different but is there really any difference or is it just me?

Lava Reef has an exclusive boss for Knuckles.

The beginning of Green Hill is different, he has the exclusive act 1 in Mirage Saloon, and he has a different act 2 boss in Lava Reef.

There's also a joke ending if you get the true ending as him with & Knuckles Mode on.

And he has the best physics glitch in the game, at the beginning of Studiopolis Act 1 gliding into the ring of bumpers can send you straight up and give you a massive shortcut.

Knuckles has a few exclusive routes in some levels (such as the start of Green Hill Act 1, a breakable wall in the middle of Chemical Plant Act 2, etc), the one unique act of Mirage Saloon, and a different boss in Lava Reef Act 2, but otherwise he's got the same amount of content as Sonic and Tails, without being gimped out of the last few levels like in Sonic 3.

Well that's basically what it was like to play as Knuckles in Sonic 3. He does also have some areas in stages only he can access.
