Is it just me, or is the 3rd Special Stage Impossible? [Solved]

It seems like this one took an extremely steep climb in the difficulty curve. I can't even see the freaking UFO, even when I had as many as 50+ some rings, and I still ran out of time.

Yes, I'm taking the inner paths, cutting corners.... nothing seems to be enough. It's nowhere to be found.

For me I had trouble with 5 and 6, but now they're all easy for me. Also going for blue spheres instead of rings is a good way to catch the UFO in my experience.

The third one is not particularly difficult. The fifth one is tough; I can't seem to find a good balance between rings and speed. I end up going too fast and dying.

I didn't want to do it, but I checked a YouTube vid on it. Dammit. Having run it the wrong way so many times, immediately I could tell the difference. I was going for more speed early on, and I was loosing sight of the UFO. That was a good lesson.

Keep it in your sight as best as you can, (e.g. Follow the damn thing!!!), and gather blue spheres more gradually.

When I got to the 4th, I almost had it on the first go. Sheesh.

you can beat them on mach 2 if you just take a proper racing line and only ever take the shortest route, the blue spheres come back each lap but the rings dont so those are the only things you should really go out of your way to get if you need them

try the 5th!!! that's evil.....nah man.... these ones it's about method.......build rings and speed with blue spheres, ignore the ufo until you have enough time for the chase, memorize it's route and get em'.

Some are brutal, but when you get the technique down, isn't so bad

Yeah, the special stages are tricky but once you get used to them they aren't too bad. Taking shortcuts by jumping over the corners and u-turns helps a lot, and for me it helps to focus on collecting rings first and just pick up any blue spheres on the way.

Also, the ramps slow you down so a lot of times it's better to jump over them. That was how I beat special stage 6.

Took me an hour the get the 3rd emerald. Took me forever to realise there were a few shortcuts. The rest of the emeralds was alright. Maybe someone on youtube has a video on the 3rd emerald. 5th one was hard but took less time than getting the 3rd for me.
