The drop dash is extremely slow and kinda pointless. Its essentially a single charge spindash, not worth it at all. Especially considering you could just do a normal spindash. The couple of frames you would lose from stopping to charge up the spindash would instantly be negated by the massive difference in maximum speed achieved by a fully charged spindash.
The insta-shield can be abused to allow you to clip through certain elements which is why I would prefer it over the dropdash in pretty much every circumstance.
That's pretty silly, it should affect save games as well, I don't want to have to hex edit my save files just to use the ability I prefer.
Hell I don't see a reason why you couldn't do all three at once. Super Peelout requires you to be grounded.
Insta-shield would require a tap and dropdash a hold. I wouldn't be surprised if all three were enabled at one point.
i think sega could patch the ability select for sonic in the main game. heck, i'd like a max control option (with the super peel out, drop dash, and insta shield all in one package) for sonic... no reason why it can't.
Even insta shield is way more usefull than the drop dash, they could have chosen any of those moves for the main gamer but they chose the most useless move for the main game......
(Makes me just want to download a 100% save so i can just level select with any moveset)
Even Sonic Time Twisted let's you at least select the levels you beat without beating the whole game first....
FREE Fan Hacks destroy this Sega Sponsored PAID Fangame.
Other Sonic hacks let you use ALL of Sonics moves and with saves not just choose 1 while losing the others in no save mode where you can't even skip the lengthy intros.
(you may not know this but Sonic is about going FAST not sitting through the same intros every replay)
Nothing will ever top Sonic 1 and 2 Heros with Team Sonic AND Chaotix until maybe Sonic 3 complete Heros happens (if that ever does)
Also "Even Sonic Time Twisted let's you at least select the levels you beat without beating the whole game first...." Quoted from a guy that knows what he talking about actually
(oh right is was me.....)
Totally not biased coming from someone with a Sonic Mania steam pic
(you haven't even completed a single Sonic game on steam what would you know...)
Todays sequels are about trade offs, try harding with jank and what little you are given to be the sweatiest tryhard of them all......
Also the regular shield gives Sonic no ability, it should give Sonic the homing attack...
