Try adding the game to the exception list? I don't use McAfee myself but it shouldn't be too hard to find I would assume

BUT GEE I WONDER WHY THAT'S HAPPENING

Uninstall McAfee and use Windows Defender or a quality anti virus like AVG, Avast, or BitDefender. McAfee is garbage. If you don't want to uninstall McAfee then you should be an option to pause it or enable a gaming mode.

Edit: Adding it as an exception would be a better move as suggested.

People have reported that Norton and McAfee claims the EXE as a false positive. You can add it to the exception list, and/or submit a false positive report to McAfee for review.

I used Malwarebytes and it didn't detect anything when I had Mania on my laptop, just stop using McAfee and go for Malwarebytes it's better than most virus protection software nowadays.

Instead of hating on the OPs choice of anti-virus, maybe bring some constructive advice to the discussion.

I attempted to put the exe file on the exception list but it said i need an admin to do the action. Im the admin of my pc. ._.

As far as i was concerned, Dunova isnt a malware?..

It's not malware. Because of the way older antivirus software like McAfee and Norton are designed, they can't scan the exe file due to the ecryption that Denuvo is designed to do, and because they can't scan it, they block it even though it isn't harmful.

That doesn't mean Windows automatically allows you to do everything. You need to authorize the action 'as an administrator'. In most cases, running the program as Admin in the compat settings does the trick, but that's probably not easy to do with an anti-virus. Can you post the exact message you receive when trying to add it to exceptions?

It has the same properties as Malware.

Sorry, but there is a reason McAfee and Norton are given away by cable companies as part of your cable subscription. There is a reason it cost half that of NOD-32. They are junk AV solutions that have been riding on their reputation from the 1990's all these years.
That's all fine and dandy, but what does it have to do with the issue the OP is having?

The exact same thing happend to me with Just Cause 3
Stop using McAfee it's awful. I switched to Malwarebytes It's a way better Anti Virus, and it detected a ton of things that McAfee didn't.

I was constructive. I also let the OP know that McAfee is garbage. A lot of people still think that you need to pay for anti-virus. If the OP has a subscription cancelling it would be good advice.
