Lava Reef Act 2 Boss tips?

I beated the game twice and this boss in particular is probably the most annoying to fight. The two times i played through i almost died by Time Over, as while many bosses require waiting, this one is all dependant of RNG.

Is there something i am missing to get the boss open for attacks more often? I don't wanna play the idle game each time i reach this point in the game.

Bit late, I know, but I have a solution, and it's a bit of a trick, but just hear me out on this one. Obviously, Heavy Rider's gonna jump over you if you try to attack her head on (and yes, I checked, it's a she), but it's actually possible to run up behind her and attack her from behind without taking any damage. Now, it's tricky because like you said, this fight is dependent on RNG. So just try to endure her attacks, run up behind her when she's at normal speed, and hit her *just right* in between Billy (the Motobug) and the flail. If you keep at it, you'll win eventually.

Weird.. I don't remember that one taking very long and I know I didn't have super forms my first playthrough.. Maybe I just cheesed it or something, I dunno.

Try jumping twice. First, make motobug jump, and then jump again to hit Heavy Rider. That's my tip. Oh, and if you're in No-save, select 3&K mode. Then press the jump button 2 times, and you hit the Heavy Rider.
