Sonic Mania all playable characters?

Are we getting Amy and Shadow for playable characters or they will be dlc,
because in the demo version of Sonic Mania they are playable?

Well there is one unofficial demo made by a fan containing 5 playable character and 1 level, but i am not sure if he added anything new to the offical game.

He couldn't add anything to the official game as he isn't part of the dev team. Also why would we want Shadow in a Classic Sonic game?

Shadow was still on Ark, and Amy Rose did not show back up until SA1 in canon.
also there will be no DLC, mods maybe.

Considering the announcement trailer mentions three playable characters, which are Sonic, Tails & Knuckles, you should know it won't have any more characters. And, to be honest, I prefer it that way. Don't get me wrong, I like the "newer" characters like Amy and Shadow, but in a classic Sonic game they'd feel a bit out of place, in my opinion.

As for the "demo", there's no official demo. From what I gather, there's an unofficial "demo", but it wouldn't even count as a demo, since the person who made it has no relation to the team working on Sonic Mania.

Maybe bring back past classic characters like Fang or Mighty as DLC?

If we're talking dlc then personally I think a lot of the characters you would see in like maybe 1 or 2 games in the classic era and/or comic characters would make great cameos as playable characters. Just to name as many as I can think of off the top of my head: Manic, Sonia, Scourge, Mighty, Espio, Vector, Ray, Fang, Amy, Bean, ETC ETC ETC.

(SKINS FOR THE MAIN CHARACTERS NOT ACTUAL CHARACTERS) Also different Sonic, Tails, Knuckles models as DLC would be cool. You could get a Sonic 3 Mania Sonic, A Neo Sonic, Maybe a Modernish Sonic with Green Eyes. Same goes with Knuckles and Tails. Maybe saturnish skins. SA1 Dreamcast Skins.

I'd rather have them keep it as a "classic" game than adding a lot of characters either through DLC or something like that. There's always mods for that kind of thing.
