I don't even think it's ghost data because 95% of all names I see are simple first names like Ben, Jeff, George and after 13 years being on Steam I've never seen someone having his first name as nickname lol.
I've seen user names like THE D, and other stuff.. and my name on my character is George, maybe you saw me (;
Whahaha, still, I don't see many weird names, most people are Bob's and Georges from United States of America and Canada :D never saw a Belgian :(
just seen a user called TAPb
Ok it can be that people pick their first name for the game, it's not really steamrelated as you can change it at the start, on top of someone adding me as friend on Steam after I replied to his discussion topic and his name is... Ben. :D
When you encounter other players on the actual trail and at campsites, they are Bot/AI versions of real player accounts and appear in the area where that player last logged off.
When you are inside your town and interacting with shared resources and chat, those are real players active at the time you're interacting with them.
Awesome, thanks for making it clear! One other question I got is about the -%resistance gear, is it really less resistance? Because it's hard to imagine Tracker boots are worse in mud and fire than simple boots.
You're welcome! I apologize for this late response:
Any resistance stats on an item mean increased resistance to an effect (or decrease in adverse effect). I am sorry for the confusion on that. There aren't any items that are worse for any conditions, there are only items that will improve conditions for you.
For example: some shoes are better in mud, but they will not be worse when there isn't mud.
Hope this helps! I replied to your other topic too, but posted here as well for others to see. Thank you for playing, safe travels!
