its a "grab and hold the thing you want to split and wiggle the mouse around and one pops out"-thing. pretty ♥♥♥♥ but you get around with it ^^ or stick it in the crafting menu, and cancel the craftign process, so you get the one piece droped back in the bag :)

but beware: everything on the ground is free loot for the NPCs, so dont throw ANYTHING on the ground if you dont want to lose it ;)
learned that the hward way in a camp with rly good stuff...
