controller based directional movement

Is there a way to just turn this feature off with Windows Mixed Reality in general / or something that can be edited even when not using locomotion VR. I seriously dislike this feature with WMR, and not sure if Vive has it also.

In games, I find that I move with the thumb-stick direction plus whatever position my left hand is in.
