Currently we allow exporting the 2D plan a static image or DXF/DWG, and the 3D model to a static image or VRML.
Just a quick tip: as stated above, you can export to VRML => this is a 3D model that you can open with a 3D program, add different materials, effects, etc.
Hope this helps!
Oh, sorry I had never heard of that format before. I will look into it then. Thank you for the response!
So, with that in mind, my next questiion would be about selling objects originally created with yalls software. Long story short, I am a 3D Clothing modeler for SecondLife, Turbosquid, and CGTrader. I've been looking into moving from that field into creating 3D structures and buildings. I would absolutly LOVE to find a program like this to help make that process a little less of a headache lol.
So, if I were to make a building with this software, export it to Maya or substance painter or whatever, would I legally be okay to sell that building, with my own uv mapping and textures created in an outside program, to then be sold within games like SecondLife and/or on 3D Model markets like CGTrader?
Either way I thank you for answering my silly questions :D This software looks like a good addition to my 3D programs, just want to make sure I am clear about the legal side of things since I sell my 3D stuffs :P
The VRML (Virtual Reality Model Language) creates elements that can be used in virtual worlds.
The files' format is .WRL. Turbosquid sells WRL objects.
I am not sure how the legal aspects of selling objects work, but I'd assume that they must follow the copyright laws.
Just one additional note: Punch exports to VRML version 1 => this means that the WRL model will include colors => you can open the model in your 3D programs and add textures.
There are not silly questions! Feel free to ask
I sent a message to several in the company regarding selling geometry you create with the software. When I have a definitive answer I will let you know!
Oh cool! Thank you!
And yeah, I looked into that file format a bit. Found a script for Blender to be able to import in there, then you could export it as whatever you needed. As for SecondLife, we can only import meshes as DAE files. I don't know alot about other games, I think IMVU does dae and other formats too. But, anywaays :P Thank you guys for the awesome help! XD
Do you plan on selling designs that contain our 3D objects (e.g. couches, tables), or just the building shells?
Thanks!
It would be just the buildings themselves. Any furniture or even doors and windows and all that I'd make myself in other programs. XD
I was in the office last week and did not receive an answer from legal regarding this issue. All of our internal objects, textures, plans, etc. are copyrighted and cannot be sold. To err on the side of caution, I would hold off until we can get a definitive answer.
Okays thank you for asking XD
