I recommend playing this game. It's pretty explicitly stated in one of the endings what happens to the world. Regarding Isaac and Time Fkuc being related in more ways than one- It's the box. In this game, that "box" is the game console. All of Ed's games have a theme of escapism to them.
One of the endings does have a very clear reference to Steven, but the portrayal of it is a clear nod to Ouroboros- Ed's next game (Built in the same engine as this game), featuring Steven. In fact, you play as Steven. Everything is Steven.
If any of Ed's games are a sequel to Time Kufc, it'll be Ouroboros.
