Can't say I have much motivation to continue
Anyone else feel like, after they got to the Future, that you're not really motivated to continue on? I enjoyed a lot of it, but in the end I keep getting more and more frustrated. I collected every single tumor in the past and in the end I just feel like I wasted my time, since I don't care much for the Future. The game cartridges are alright but leads to more frustration.

In the end, it has to do with how utterly precise you have to be - there's no room for error at all in most of this. That's what gets me angry coming from the original Meat Boy and Super Meat Boy. I loved those games, and best of all they were fair. When you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up it wasn't a huge deal, the bandage were challenging but rewarding. Maybe it's the fact that the tumors don't offer enough incentive that makes me compare them with bandages, but I'd much rather have a bandage in every few levels than a tumor that are often infuriatingly hard to get in later levels.

I'd still suggest the game to platforming fans, and it's not a bad game per se, but I think it's not really my thing anymore. What do you all think?

let me be your motivation bb

I mean, the game is very hard and that difficulty can be too much. I'm at 98% completion now and I'm mainly just missing few of the cartridges. I have a feeling that the last few ones might be too hard for me, but everything else I have really enjoyed. Some of the levels are very hard, but since the game plays like a charm I dont mind dying and trying again.

The motivation to collect tumors is they are used as lives in the future and of course achievements. At first I didnt notice until later on in the future, but this is supposed to be hard so you can overcome it like smb.

I'm not like most regular players I continue to play even if I get frustrated, since I want that extra push to make myself get better.

But that's just my opinion on this game and smb.

I'm with you. I got really frustrated with some of the harder tumors, and I got them all so that's an achievment I suppose. But I was at the Future and even though I knew about the lives system, I thought to myself "great, there's more?" At that point I guess you just have to put down a game.

i dont blame you. half of this game is just padding. be glad youre not making yourself suffer through the carts.

The 'original' meat boy and super meat boy? Did i miss something? What is Meat Boy original? I do agree I think i prefered the flow of SMB better, and i'm not even up to the hard parts of TEiN yet.

This happened to me in SMB, and this happens to me now. I just can't bear all frustration I constantly get. I want to complete all the levels and collect all the ♥♥♥♥, but apparently my platforming skills are far below needed requirements. Yeah, this game is very skill depending, but there also some moments which is just unfair. Basic game is pretty easy, but optional stuff sometimes is just beyond good and evil.

I think, I'm getting old or something, but in the end it's only a frustration I can feel. And a pain in my thumb. Sad to say, but I think I'm done with TEiN. I really don't have so much patience to repeat one level over and over and over and over again until I will remember it better than route from my bed to my toilet or until lady luck will decide to help me.

Meat Boy was a flash game before Super Meat Boy. Google it, you'll be able to find it on most flash game sites I reckon. He also released a second flash game that had levels created by the community.

Dude, go back and play some late game SMB and tell me you don't feel exactly the same way, that ♥♥♥♥ got tedious. This game is super fair and I would say easier than meat boy. You get a checkpoint every screen, except in the iron carts, how's that a huge deal?

You bought a precision platformer, which by default requires a high skill ceiling.
If you're not good at a certain genre, don't buy it? why frustrate yourself?

I wouldn't buy a strategy game made by ed & tyler because I don't like strategy games, regardless of how positively reviewed it would be.

Gotta know your strenghs and weaknesses before you dive into something that's out of your league.
Your opinion is based on a bad decision, not on the actual game content value for those who are interested at this type of gameplay.

I don't think you read my post, or maybe you just skimmed it. I've played all of Ed's flash games, Super Meat Boy, etc... I like precision platforming, so it's not that I'm bad at these games.

It's not based on a bad decision because I knew what I was buying.

I was kind of expected a "git gud" comment somewhere or another. I could very well continue and complete The Future if I very well wanted to, I've no doubt. I have about 80% or so right now. But at this point I just find that it's not worth it. That's one opinion on the matter, I'm not saying it's going to be like that for everyone which is why I asked if anyone else felt this way.
