Constant failure to recognize speech in VA.
Windows Speech Recognition gets about 95% of what i say correctly. I've managed to make 3 series of Voice Recognition Training before it's constant pausing drove me mad. Dictation in Windows gets also aorund 95% of thing correctly. And then i try Voice Attack....

I've purchased Voice Attack for Elite Dangerous, and after trying 3 different mics with Astra HCS, i've managed to activate "lights" command TWICE and "launch" ONCE during 3hr-long tryouts in game and once or twice run calculator command in the very system.
I'm honestly dazzled how VA identifies "lights" as "yes" and pulls "ah" commnad out of pure air.

I've tried different settings of mics, of speech recognition, various options for noise reduction and others, tried installing other speech recognition system, but VA still sees only the windows' one.
The bar at the bottom of VA's window keeps moving, so apparently VA hears me, just somehow can't understand a single command. I've tried following the dev's tutorial video referring to such case, but it brought no solution to the issue.
In this state the software is unusable. Need help.

If the "Windows Speech Recognition" application (with the small Vista-style overlay at the top of your screen) recognizes you accurately, that's the same speech recognition engine VoiceAttack uses by default, so the results should be pretty much identical.

If you used Cortana instead, that has no relevance to VoiceAttack. The speech recognition training does, but if by "pausing" you mean often needing to repeat phrases during the training, the speech recognition engine is having difficulty hearing you.

There are a number of suggestions in case of speech recognition issues here: https://forum.voiceattack.com/smf/index.php?topic=1635.0

Not sure which "other speech recognition system" you're referring to, but if it's Speech Platform 11, you'll want make sure you have the 64bit runtime installed.

I have never used Cortana, or Siri, or Alexa, or whatever. Don't know how, didn't need it anyway.

Pausing - during the speech recognition trainings (where one has to read sentences provided by the system), there is a "pause" button, which sometimes activates on it's own, via a bug or glitch, making the effort to read the sentence go to waste. I've done some google research, and apparently people encountered the same problem numerous times.

Repeating - in worst cases i was able to pass every sentence by the third try, unless the "pause" button spoiled my try

I was trying to dictate to Windows, with and without cloud access, and to Google. I admit i'm not 100% sure if those are all different speech recognition systems, but they definitely worked better than VA.

On Monday i'll try to come into possession of a modern mic, one of better quality than those "noname" ones that i currently hold. Maybe that will help solve the problem.

Thanks for the link provided, the things from that list that i've tried still haven't helped.
Maybe tomorrow i'll again find some enthusiasm to try to deal with the issue.

Cheers!
