My voice attack stopped working.

my voice attack just stopped working one day, it doesnt register any voice commands at all, its like it cant hear me any more i dont see anything in the ap when i speak like i use to see a green block and a line of text show up but now nothing and i can figure out how to get it to work again. It was the only reason i played Elite Dangerous and i stopped playing because Voice Attack stopped working. can some one help me plz i cant figure out how to make it work again and i realy would like to learn but there is nothing on you tube or anything that i can find about my problem.

If you don't see the "green bar", one possibility is that there is some other software interfering with your microphone (or the volume got reset to a very low level)

So, any VoiP or sound manipulation software installed and running in the background, by any chance?

No there is not. iv just run the mic set up again and trained my speech engine with my microphone its working but when i have voice attack open it does not hear me. I just re installed voice attack and bound the word Hello to Alt+Tab for 00.100 seconds to test it and its not working or giving me any kind of sing that it even hears me

im not sure what Nahimic is or where it came from but apparently this might be causing some issues

It's probably this one http://www.nahimic.com, which is indeed a sound related software... not sure if it was embedded with some other game/audio driver or something, but if are not intentionally using it, you might consider uninstalling it or at least see if it has some options to not take exclusive use of the mic

Yep that fixed everything, i just turned it off.

If VoiceAttack is working OK, that message is just a warning as Nahimic has the potential to cause issues. If VA is not working, something to try is going to Options and then to the Recognition tab and then check the box labeled, 'Disable Acoustic Echo Cancellation' and then restart VoiceAttack. See if that helps at all (it may or may not). If it does not, then you'll need to find out how to configure Nahimic on your system in regards to audio input (microphone).

I've got a pretty high threshold for banning folks... especially for stuff like repeat threads :D
