Your VoiceAttack registration key must have been purchased no later than March 18th, 2017 (US Central). If you purchased a VoiceAttack registration on March 19th or later, you are too late, unfortunately, and will need to purchase a Steam registration separately (that is per agreement with Valve).

If you bought after that date you can still get free updates (including optional beta versions) from voiceattack.com and use the Discord for 24/7 tech support voiceattack.com/discord

If you want to switch to the Steam version, instructions and information are in this topic: https://steamcommunity.com/app/583010/discussions/0/135512305398228186/

Hmm thank you for the link and the help. But after reading that. i think im just going to keep it as is. i was just hoping to have steam have my reg info backed up. did not think it was going to end up being this big RISK of my registration according to the dev

To clarify: You will retain your VoiceAttack license, that is not what is at risk here.

What is at risk is the data of your current VoiceAttack installation, I.E. your profiles and settings.

The profile database should (but is not guaranteed to) remain in place unchanged, however anything beside that will need to be moved and/or reinstalled (E.G. if you have any HCS Voice Packs products, you'll likely need to reinstall those to update any file paths; That's something you'd want to contact them directly about).

Settings will by necessity be lost, so you'll want to have a good look at how you have the website version set up, so you can duplicate any deviation from the default settings in the Steam version.
As an aside, if you have the "Audio Output Type" option set to anything but "Integrated Components", I would recommend switching to that, as it is generally more stable than "Windows Media Components".

@warlock that's before the cutoff date so fine, I agree with Pfeil there is no "risk" but your working directory needs to change to the Steam install dir when it will be currently on C:WIndows..
