Quest: "High-Quality Bait", "kill pests" disabled? [solved]

I shall "Get hold of a Caterpillar by Killing Pests infesting your crops".
The "Kill Pests" button is disabled.
When I kill normal critters moving into my farm they don't give any loot at all.

Do I just have to wait or am I doing something wrong?

Found out.
It is an event that marks the field red on the map. When you go there you can do "kill pests".
If you don't go there, it will go away, it just takes a lot longer.

Btw, you should not have a worker working that field for the event to happen.

I don't have a worker. I check the map and when the garden icon is red I head over if I am in the area. It seems to stay for a long time, so when I get there I get a caterpillar (or have to prune instead). Trying to find out if I can use the caterpillar as bait. It seems not.
