Anti-Cheat Xigncode Safety
Black Desert Online uses Xigncode anti-cheat software. This is a bit of an issue for me due to their data collections and wellbia stating they're non-liable for damages caused by this poor anti-cheat. Wellbia is run by China which by itself isn't an issue until you notice it's had multiple leaks and security problems. If you remove the software you can't play Black Desert anymore but you also can't fully remove it without going into safemode. There is no uninstall option for the software even if you wipe black desert online off of your drive. It doesn't seem to send data packets out but it does log all information from hardware to software that's on your C:// drive. It has kernel level permissions which alone is a huge risk and is entirely unnecessary for an anti-cheat system for a $10 game on steam. If anyone has any more information to add please contribute. I'd like to keep playing the game but this is a huge red flag.

• Xigncode3 operates locally and only sends detection data when unauthorized programs are detected.
• This security module does not have the function of controlling the computer system without the user knowing.
• Xigncode3 shuts down together with Black Desert.

Regarding the removal of the software, you can do it by following the steps from point #6 in the link below (an old news post from a PA employee):

Edit: I forgot you mentioned you wanted to keep playing. Unfortunately you'll need to keep it if that's the case. You could just do what I do and get a separate SSD for gaming, that way whether you trust various anti-cheat software or not your data will never come in contact with any of them.

xigncode3 is pain to get rid of as i hear, 1other thing they would half to change before i consider installing it (first thing is how much and what data they mine), if game is uninstalled xigncode3 has to be gone with it period! reason i have new steam SWTOR, cause the other version has or at least use to have some separate thing installed in ur PC as well (i think it was anti cheat), ever sins i switched to steam version it never installed it, it was annoying to get rid of to as i remember, new i am like if its not build in game or steams anti cheat i just don't install the game, all mmo's i know have built in anti cheat, like its all same install and when u launch and see icon on ur task bar its that games version of game guard and also game

main point, if game is being uninstalled it has to uninstall the anti-cheat to, so this has to change/has to be fixed, its huge issue and turn off

also data mining has to decrees, at current state u can call it spyware (spyware collects unnecessary data and so does xigncode3, it doesn't only monitor sys for cheat programs, spyware is pain to get rid of and so is xigncode3, so all spyware characteristic's, specially considering xigncode3 owner have had data perches and leaks as i heard)

also why is steam version of the game using xigncode3 when steam has its own anti-cheat, xigncode3 is unnecessary on steam version

if u would at least make it so it comes and goes with the game, like gets uninstalled with the game a lot of ppl would consider installing it (and don't hide it sins ppl will eventually find it and get more mad then before, some are mad cause u half to remove Xigncode manually and its pain to do), ppl hate when game leaves stuff behind
