I have been trying different things for several hours and so far no success.
What bums me is I am missing my three Cron Stones from the butterflies and my 200 loyalty points each day that I cannot login. 😞
The Windows Defender option does no good for me because it isn't even on.
Webroot controls everything.
I disabled Webroot and the issue still happens.
I can't even log into BDO, so why was I asked to give WinMTR information while playing in BDO?
Again, this issue did not even exist until after this latest patch today Wednesday 2022.01.19.
is it windows 10 you're using? my game works on W7 after update, I just had one short time popup with anti cheat starting its service when I start the game, then it sits in services while I play and exits when I close the game.
have you tried to check services and processes (from all users) to see maybe it is stuck, probably starting anti cheat process manually before running the game?
Okay, I finally got BDO to let me into the game.
I don’t know the specific thing that did it, but this is what I did.
I’m running Windows 10
I made sure BDO would be run as administrator
I cleared / deleted everything Inside these folders.
01) C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Black Desert Online\ads
02) C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Black Desert Online\Cache
03) C:\Users\your computer name\Documents\Black Desert\UserCache
04) I brought up the Pearl Abyss Launcher and had it scan files
05) I had Steam ‘verify integrity of game files’, the BDO game files
06) I brought up the Pearl Abyss Launcher again and in doing so, it started updating again…. let it do it
07) I opened Windows Security and went into the Firewall & network protection
08) I selected ‘Allow an app through firewall’
09) I clicked ‘Change settings’
10) I clicked ‘Allow another app’
11) I browsed and added the following:
a) C:\Program Files (x86)\EasyAntiCheat (both ‘EasyAntiCheat.exe & EasyAntiCheat.sys’)
b) C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Black Desert Online (both ‘BlackDesertEAC.exe & BlackDesertLauncher.exe’)
My Anti-Virus/Firewall program is: Webroot SecureAnywhere CE22.1 (v9.0.31.84). You will have to figure out what to do with your Anti-Virus/Firewall program
12) On the right is PC Security and the right of that is a Gear Icon, click it
13) I did the following in both the ‘Block/Allow Files’ tab and the ‘Allowed Scripts’ tab
14) Block/Allow Files click ‘Add File’, I browsed and added the following:
a) C:\Program Files (x86)\EasyAntiCheat (both ‘EasyAntiCheat.exe & EasyAntiCheat.sys’)
b) C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Black Desert Online (both ‘BlackDesertEAC.exe & BlackDesertLauncher.exe’)
15) Allowed Scripts click ‘Allow a file’, I browsed and added the following:
a) C:\Program Files (x86)\EasyAntiCheat (both ‘EasyAntiCheat.exe & EasyAntiCheat.sys’)
b) C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Black Desert Online (both ‘BlackDesertEAC.exe & BlackDesertLauncher.exe’)
16) I launched Steam, clicked Play on the BDO game, clicked Start on the Pearl Abyss Launcher, and it worked. I logged out and back into BDO a couple of times and it worked each time.
Hopefully it works for you all. Wishing you all good luck. 😊
For those that disabled Webroot: It needs to be uninstalled - there are still Webroot processes taking place with it disabled. One thing that I found out was to uninstall Webroot - start BDO and leave it running while reinstalling Webroot. It will recognize BDO as a baseline process and shouldn't interfere again -- until the next patch...
While doing all of the normal verify, scan, reboots and failing many, many times I got lucky and slipped one through and the game started. Lucky, I guess. I wasn't going to go through the process that Tsel13 went through when I know a patch will fix this as it has at least 2 other times since they started using EAC.
Go to the steamapp folder than go directly to the Black Desert folder, proceed to activate the anti cheat program yourself, it'll fail, but after that the game should start. At least it did for me, I didn't even need to delete anything, it's just the program that's kind of faulty.
The program is named BlackDesertEAC btw.
Hope you get your dailies buddy lol.
