A way to fix BDO not launching from steam

Hey guys so after my boyfriend and I spent 2 days trying to launch BDO on his computer and trying literally everything every forum and support and reddit post had to offer, I found a fix!

Our problem was that he tried to open it from steam, clicked play, we would see the little white logo that said black desert and the black bar would load up, then it would disappear and the computer cursor would have the spinning "im thinking" and steam would just stop running the game automatically. Nothing worked. No error code or anything.

We have tried:
Bdo.dat
uninstall and reinstall steam
Uninstall and reinstall BDO about 4 times
Messed with steam overlay
Messed with firewall and task manager etc
Every combination possible of run as admin and not run as admin
Downloaded the standalone launcher from BDOs website and put it in the steam folder
Tried to put standalone launcher in steam library
Other complicated things that didn't work

And after each didnt work we started from scratch, so the fix was just the fix itself. We had completely removed the reinstalled the game and removed the standalone launcher

So here it is! Go into steam, right click the game, go to manage, browse local files, find the launcher application in the folder steam opens up, and right click that and click on troubleshoot compatibility. We've tried this at different settings, but the one that worked was clicking on troubleshoot manually, and clicking
- the program opens but doesn't display correctly
AND
- the program requires additional permissions
AND
- don't see my problem listed

Hit next, then I checked off
-program starts up in a small window and won't switch to full screen
AND
-problem not listed

Hit next, test the program, if it works then great. Save the settings and enjoy BDO.
If it doesn't, I'm sorry and I feel your pain.

I really hope this helps someone! We were late to the game but maybe someone is re-downloading it out there somewhere and has the same issue
